But now, you find yourself researching around and you see these Kentucky Derby “add-ons.” What in the world are they and why is your ticket just not enough? And what if you already have or are getting a
Derby Experiences Official Ticket Packages? Are these add-ons a necessity?

After clicking around on a few pages, you find yourself getting overwhelmed (rightfully so) as you exit your browser altogether.

Luckily, we’ve got all the information you’re seeking right here, friends! So don’t you dare click away – we’re about to answer all your questions about these potential concierge services!

What Could You Possibly Add-On?

ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING! Through Derby Experiences, you and your group can add an assortment of activities or concierge services onto your experience. The Kentucky Derby weekend may only be two days, but there’s tons of time in those two days for activities. And if you’re arriving earlier or planning on staying a little longer, you’re going to want to have events to fill your time.

And folks, it’s the KENTUCKY DERBY! You’re checking it off your bucket list! So the concept of “go big or go home” is an understatement here.

Take a look at your available options to bump up your Kentucky Derby experience!

Official Derby Parties

The Kentucky Derby weekend is known for the lavish parties it hosts, and last year, Derby Experiences even hosted its first official Kentucky Derby party, the Fillies & Lilies Party featuring Wynonna Judd!

Take a look at the confirmed parties coming down the pipeline, and remember, through Derby Experiences, you can get a VIP invite to any or all of them!

Held inside the Kentucky Derby Museum on the eve of the Kentucky Derby, enjoy live entertainment, premium open bars, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and a bourbon lounge while you mix and mingle with A-list celebrities!
At the fifth annual celebration, enjoy delectable cuisine prepared by Masterful Chefs from popular horse racing destinations across the country. Not to mention, partial proceeds go to benefit hunger relief organizations.
What better way to celebrate the Kentucky Derby than by partying after the race is over with all of the winners! Immediately following the 141st running of the Derby, make your way over to the Kentucky Derby Museum to party amongst the winning jockey, trainer and owners, along with Hollywood stars, professional athletes and other A-list celebs. With the cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on the house, this is an evening you won’t soon forget.

Transportation & Parking

Considering not including your transportation? Then prepare to fight the throngs of traffic and high parking prices in the lots and yards surrounding Churchill Downs on race days. Last year, prices went up to around $100 to park close to the track.

If you’ve purchased an Official Ticket Packages through Derby Experiences that includes your accommodations in Louisville, then chances are you already have transportation to and from Churchill Downs on race days included.

However, if for some reason you didn’t opt in for that inclusion or if you’re still looking to get provided-for transportation, look no further! With public motor coaches, private vehicle services and semi-private shuttle services available, no matter the size of your group, we can get you there!

And if you do decide to take the traffic head on, opt in for Derby Experiences’ private valet parking! Our lot is one and a half blocks away from the Gate One entrance into Churchill Downs (about a five minute walk). The lot is secured and staffed throughout the day offering maximum security, and there are even covered areas in case of inclement weather.

It beats sitting in traffic and paying top dollar for a close parking spot any day!

Whether you are seeking tours inside Churchill Downs or outside in the city, you have to take advantage of the variety of tours on hand! Take a look at some of the tours we can set you up with:

You’ll have the opportunity to go in VIP areas of the track where you can get up close and personal with the horses, their owners, trainers and jockeys. You’ll also be able to see the horses complete their morning training on the track and visit the press room to gain tips from owners and trainers. Your morning will conclude with breakfast in the trackside kitchen where the first grandstand stood years ago.
Kentucky is known for its bourbon! Its legendary distilleries have crafted some of the world’s finest with secret recipes and a time-honored process. You’ll have the opportunity to tour the facility and taste its amber goodness.
Can’t decide on a tour? You’d be surprised how often that happens! The Best of Kentucky combines the realm of horse racing and the craft of bourbon to show the things that Kentucky is known for! Tour a private horse farm and a bourbon distillery and learn about both processes at the same time!
Want exclusive access inside the fences of the Paddock area at Churchill Downs? Well, only with Derby Experiences you can! Get VIP access inside the historic saddling paddock where the jockeys mount the horses right before the race. This is prime real estate to watch the behavior of the horses and pick out a winner to wager on.
Wondering what it is like to live in Kentucky and live on a working horse farm? You’ll be taken behind the scenes into the lifestyle and tour the beautiful grounds of the Keeneland race course. You’ll see the life a thoroughbred leads after their racing career is complete and see the training process as you walk through modern barns and paddocks.
