Aqua vs Blue Grandstand Ticket Packages

So maybe we’re only talking about two shades of blue here, but prepare to be mind blown by the hues, folks!

Derby Experiences offers a variety of different Official Ticket Packages to the Kentucky Derby, two of which are the Aqua and Blue Grandstand packages. Similar to the nature of the colors, these two package options have a lot in common and because of this, it’s incredibly easy to get them confused.

That’s why you’re reading this. You want to know what in the world is the difference between Aqua and Blue Grandstand packages! After all, if you don’t know the difference how could you possibly select the right fit for you and your group?

Well, hold tight because we’re about to break down the shared traits and the differences!

The Similarities

For starters, both Aqua and Blue Grandstand packages offer third floor grandstand seating (uncovered, stadium-style seats). From this vantage point, you’ll be able to see the horses load and break from the starting gate, round the first turn, come around the last turn, and head into the final straight! Even though you’re not located directly at the finish line to see the photo finish head on, the world’s largest HD video screen is located right in front of you offering views of the horses when they are out of your direct line of sight.

Another quality these packages share, and something that is unique to all other Kentucky Derby packages, is they offer access to the exclusive Sunny’s Halo Lounge in the Grandstand Pavilion! This rooftop party deck is located directly behind the third floor grandstand seating so technically, even when guests are at their seat they’re in hospitality.

Within Sunny’s Halo Lounge with both packages, guests have access to a complimentary one-time lunch buffet, open beer, wine and soft drink selections, and a cash bar for premium beverages (can’t leave out those Mint Juleps!). There is also simulcast TV coverage inside the hospitality area so even when guests’ backs are turned from the track, they can see all the festivities taking place.

Aqua and Blue Grandstand packages also ensure that guests receive VIP Fast Access Passes for a quicker, more secure entrance to Churchill Downs through Gate 10, and Derby Experiences’ on-site trip directors are available in hospitality throughout both race days to assist any guest needs.

Fotor0903162226As if that’s not enough, celebrity jockeys and A-List stars will be making appearances throughout Derby weekend in Sunny’s Halo Lounge to meet-and-greet with guests. Last year, Kentucky Derby Champion Pat Day and Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders made appearances, and since the seating area and rooftop party deck are for Aqua and Blue VIPs only, you can rest assured that no one else has that access!

Another great feature these packages share is that luxurious accommodations in Louisville and transportation to and from Churchill Downs each day can be added on to either package. This not only eliminates the hassle of you and your group having to find a hotel, but it also takes away all the stress of having to fight traffic and find parking.

In other words, both the Aqua and Blue Grandstand packages are a pretty sweet deal!

The Differences

Okay, okay, so if they have that much in common, what exactly makes these packages stand apart? Well, it’s one thing really. The location of your seat!

Blue Grandstand packages offer seating in rows 326-327, and Aqua Grandstand packages offer seating in row 328! That’s really the only difference!

Pick Your Shade of Blue!

Whether you decide to go Blue Grandstand or Aqua Grandstand, you really can’t go wrong! Both Official Ticket Packages offer unbelievable insider access, coveted amenities and so much more! So pick a hue and secure your spot!
