The Kentucky Derby® is the biggest celebration in racing, and every celebration deserves a party.

In fact — it deserves several parties.

People attending, or considering attending, the 2020 Kentucky Derby® with an Official Ticket Package from Derby Experiences have the option of attending the three biggest parties during the weekend at Churchill Downs®.

All three offer something different and unique, and are worth making a part of your time at the 2020 Kentucky Derby.

With that said — let's take a look at the parties you need to attend during Derby weekend.

The 3 Best Kentucky Derby Parties

Taste of Derby™ Party

When: Thursday, April 30th

Where: KFC Yum! Center

While the Kentucky Derby is known for being the biggest horse race of the year, it also has a claim to being one of the finest culinary celebrations as well.

In no place is that more evident than at the Taste of Derby Party held on the Thursday before Kentucky Derby weekend.

Join us at the KFC Yum! Center (5 miles from Churchill Downs) to enjoy some of the finest food and drink selections from famous and renowned chefs around the country.

Taste of Derby pays homage to the hard road traveled by the horses competing over the weekend by bringing in top chefs from several of races and locations featured on the Road to the Kentucky Derby. The Taste of Derby Party also brings in celebrity chefs from shows like Top Chef and more!

Each chef comes prepared with their own specialty and regional dish, ensuring that your pallet is well served and fully cultured throughout the night.

The Taste of Derby Party also features live music throughout the night and a cooking faceoff between many of the chefs in attendance.

So if you're aiming to fill your Thursday night in Louisville with something to do, look not further than Taste of Derby.

Also, the Fillies & Lilies Party is a great chance to explore the recently renovated Kentucky Derby Museum at Churchill Downs. After a $6.5 million renovation in 2018, the Museum has a new wing with exhibits honoring Bill Shoemaker, D. Wayne Lukas and more.

The Fillies & Lilies Party is also a great spot to mingle with others and even meet some famous jockeys! In the past we've seen names like Pat Day and Julie Crone joining in on the action.
